Building Leonardo’s ideas
I started woodworking to build these type scale models. I am fascinated with mechanical movements and drawings, the more complex the better. If you can stare at the rigging of a 3 masted sailing ship for hours, we are simpatico.
I build scale models as I imagine Leonardo da Vinci would have. He may create a simple design himself to test a theory, or have something commissioned from a local craftsperson in his time.
With this in mind, I follow da Vinci’s design, or one of my own, as if I will present it to Leonardo when finished.
